There are two ways to index/discover file servers. If there is a network share, then you may use Source:Folder.

If there is no share or the GEODI Service user permissions are insufficient, you may use the GDE agent as a service. Please refer to Discovery Agent - GEODI Desktop Explorer(GDE) Installation
