The GDE agent allows for indexing/discovering many PCs w/o defining each. The GDE runs on Windows, Linux or MacOS. The method described on the Discovery Agent - GEODI Desktop Explorer(GDE) Installation page should be used to distribute the GDE agent to PCs.

With the GDE:

1. You can define which local folders will be included.

2. For search purposes each user can search general data as well as data on their own PC.

3. Optionally backup indexed data to a central location.
