Agent Management Panel

Agent Management Panel

In GEODI solutions, GDE is used for endpoint (PC) discovery, while various Classifier agents are used for classification. These agents receive their policies from GEODI and report their results back to GEODI.

GEODI provides a unified panel where all agents can be monitored. Information such as agent versions, data transmission status, and other operational details is available. The panel is designed to simplify IT operations.

Access to the Agent Management Panel is restricted to system administrators. The panel is installed automatically with the Classifier or Discovery modules.

Agent installation details are on the following pages.

  • Area 1 → Agent List
Each row represents a client/endpoint, including a column for client type.
Supported types include GDE, Classifier Office Add-On, and Classifier Shell Add-On.
Dropdowns display installed versions and allow filtering.

  • Area 2 → Last Connection Filter
Allows filtering by last connection time.
Useful for diagnosing potential endpoint connectivity issues.

  • Area 3 → CSV Report
Generates a CSV report of agent statuses based on the current filters.
The report includes fields such as:

    • GDE.Error → Helps diagnose network or client issues

    • Processed data amount

    • Queue (pending data) status
These fields are also visible in the panel.

  • Area 4 → Agent Actions (Three-Dot Menu)
Allows you to forget an agent.

    • This action requires that no data remains discovered for the client.

    • Before forgetting, delete the client’s content from the index using workflows.

    • If the GDE/Classifier agents are still active on the endpoint, they will reconnect automatically after a short time.

  • Area 5 → Agent Details & Status
Displays key information about the GDE client, such as:

    • Processed data

    • Data waiting in the queue

Problematic agents are marked with a (!) icon in red or gray.
Tooltips provide details, and these errors are also included in the CSV report.

    • 🔴 Red: Network-related issues (e.g., closed port, unreachable IP, connectivity problems preventing GEODI from reaching the agent)

    • Gray: Client-side issues (e.g., disk access errors on the endpoint)

Refer to installation documentation for possible causes and solutions.

GEODI. But they keep a local copy. Agent check GEODI server for any change.

Endpoint connectivity issues

Delete the client’s indexed data (via workflows)

Network/connectivity issues

Client-side errors (e.g., disk issues)

It reconnects automatically after a short time

I use built-in LB to distribute the load, and use CSV report to analyze problems.
