GEODI Automatic Notification and E-Mail Settings

It provides 2 basic monitoring capabilities with the Automatic Notification Messages feature.

  • You can monitor the queries you want. Thus, when there is a change in the result of the query, for example, when a new document is added, you will automatically be notified.

  • You can send messages to the users you mention in the notes you take. Thus, you can easily share the notes you take with your team members.

In the default setup, users can only save their queries and share them with other users. You can make full use of the feature by making the following definitions.

  • Users must have an e-mail address. For LDAP users, the e-mail settings made through Active Directory are used.

  • User must click “Save and Watch the Query” button and “Watch” option must be selected in the project.

  • If you want the messages to come from an e-mail belonging to your organization, you must make the following setting.

GEODI uses e-mail infrastructure for notification and user settings. If you leave the settings blank, notifications will be delivered via DECE Gmail account. If you want to customize it, you can follow the steps below.

Microsoft Office 365 is exemplified in the image. Server address, port number will vary according to the mail server you use. You can set the sender display name as you wish. This name will be seen by users as the person who sent the mail. Some servers may not allow the image name.

You can try it after creating the settings. Save it after making sure it works. Incorrect e-mail definitions will result in no notifications. You need to change the settings when the password of the account you use here changes.
