A GEODI Project or Workspace brings data sources, discovery rules, permissions, and other policies.
New Project | With "New Project" your are asked to choose from a template. Starting with pre-built templates for classification and data discovery will make the process easier. You may find new templates in DECE-STORE. Manager/Settings/Module Manager allows you to add new modules. DECE-STORE has hundreds of modules about PCI/DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, country-specific recognizes, and other utilities. |
Data Sources | The next step is to define content sources. Here options such as folders, web pages, e-mail accounts are offered. Options may change according to the application modules. You can define as many sources as you wish. The names will be visible to other users. We recommend you to choose carefully. The source list may change by the licence. Check "Use Scheduled Scan" option to automatically include new data. If not, you may set a single period for all sources at the last page. Check "Enable drag&drop" to enable users add their content though browser. https://decesw.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/resumedraft.action?draftId=3973840897 https://decesw.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/geodien/pages/3987177473/Source+Database+Data+Source https://decesw.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/geodien/pages/3973841133/Source+Webpage
To index and discover data on PCs: |

Notes for OCR | OCR takes a long time and consumes a lot of CPU resources. We therefore recommend that you take some considerations into account when applying it to large data. https://decesw.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/geodien/pages/3973841411/Module+OCR |
Recognizers | Recognizers and Dictionaries are GEODI's information extraction tools. The Date Recognizer reads and parses dates from content and the Parcel Recognizer reads and parses parcel numbers from content. Recognizers may vary according to your license. With Dictionaries you can define synonyms. We can give examples such as Act/Law, Parceling/Amalgamation, Kil/Clay, Yapay Zeka/Articifical Intelligence. Some recognizers may offer additional setting options accessed by right-clicking on the Layers page. |
Base Maps | You can use Google, Bing or WMS resources and CAD files as underlays for your needs. You may need the approval or license of the relevant company to use underlays such as Google, Bing. |
Last Page | In addition to information such as the name and description of the project, many settings can be made on this page. After saving the project, it will appear in the projects list. You can edit it at any time afterwards. You should also give the final approval of the settings you have activated in the sources, such as OCR, Backup, etc. on this page. GEODI automatically includes changing content. For this purpose, you specify which period to check for changes. It is also possible to edit this setting based on the source. In addition to some access restrictions to the source, you can also set which users your project will be open to. After saving, your first scan can start. You can then manage the scanning process from the projects page. https://decesw.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/resumedraft.action?draftId=3973840897 |
Activate Classification | GEODI Classification activation is done in last page of the wizard. Since you have started with a template, the classes must be ready to use. GEODI Classification solution consists of several components. The procedures for setup and deployment of agents are on the following pages. |
Indexing Notes | Depending on the size of the data, the first scan can take time. Scanning is then done only for changed and new content and takes much less time. You can continue to use it while scanning, but you should take into account that heavy file content or OCR may slow down the usage. Congratulations, you have created your first project |
View Customizing | The search interface offers themes and various layout options. You can choose the assumptions for your project. |
The next step is to announce your project and start the training sessions. We wish you an enjoyable experience.
