Authorized Users

Authorized users and credential is required

  1. For Windows Service Installation

  2. A user with read-only access rights for Folder Data sources or Filer servers. Filer servers may be indexed with a GDE agent as a Windows service. Each server may require a different user.

  3. Credentials for Databases, e-mails, and other data sources should be ready before the installation. GEODI stores this information encrypted.

  2. service.decesoftware.com → This address is used to access DECE-STORE. GEODI automatically updates modules and configuration materials. If you prefer an offline model, the update is still possible but needs manual intervention by your teams.

  3. http://documents.decesoftware.com and sub links → This address is GEODI and Agents setup and auto updates of new versions.

  4. support.decesoftware.com → this site has a support site for GEODI. Your teams may need to access them.

GEODI requires an SSL-certified address and the default port 3323 (subject to change) to be open.

Clients (Users and Agents) must access to Depending on where the users and clients, the GEODI address may be accessible from the internet or not.

PC/FileServer crawling agent - GEODI Desktop Explorer(GDE)

GDE has different packages for Windows, Linux, and Mac computers.

GDE may run in login user space or as a service.

We suggest you use a tool like ManageEngine or SCCM to install/update/remove these agents.

If you want a user to open/view a file from a PC, port 1982(or choose another one) must be open on the clients.

You need extra storage to back up files indexed by GDE.

Classification agent - GEODI Classifier

The GEODI Classifier family has agents for Desktop and Microsoft Office Classification.

Office Classifier agent works on Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Desktop Classifier agent works on Windows Explorer. All agents are in a single package.

We suggest you use a tool like ManageEngine or SCCM to install/update/remove these agents.
