GEODI Discovery:Actions
Actions include processes such as the disposal or quarantine of sensitive content discovered by GEODI Discovery. Actions also cover data remediation processes.
System administrators and members of the "ACC.Discovery"
group can access the actions specified on this page.
To apply actions to the desired projects, the setting Advanced/WorkspaceSettings/GenericSettings/"ACC.Discovery":true
must be configured.
Actions: Discovery-Disposal
GEODI uses the reporting infrastructure to generate data remediation scripts. The disposal script is one of these. The ready-made scripts are in Windows Batch language, working for both local and remote (GDE) sources. Scripts can also be generated for languages such as Bash or Python.
Disposal is an irreversible process, please proceed with caution.
Due to browser security measures, scripts are downloaded with the extension *.bat.txt. You must rename them to *.bat.
The generated script may not work on different machines due to access rights, paths of remote files, and similar reasons. You should run it on the machine where the GEODI Server is located.
Actions: Discovery-Quarantine
Quarantine creates a batch script that moves selected content to a designated directory. It covers local or network directories as well as remote directories provided by GDE. The selected files are moved to the quarantine area.
Quarantine is an irreversible process, please proceed with caution.
Ensure that the quarantine directory has sufficient space.
The generated script may not work on different machines due to access rights, paths of remote files, and similar reasons. You should run it on the machine where the GEODI Server is located.
In the quarantine directory, content from local and network directories is stored in a similar hierarchy, while content from remote machines is prefixed with the IP address.
Other conditions are the same as for Disposal.
Actions: Discovery-Encrypt
The encryption report creates a script that compresses selected content into encrypted files in the directory without modifying the original files. Encryption covers local or network directories.
You can choose different passwords for different operations. It is your responsibility to store these passwords securely.
The generated script may not work on different machines due to access rights, paths of remote files, and similar reasons. You should run it on the machine where the GEODI Server is located.
WinRAR must be installed on the machine where the script is executed.
Aksiyon: Delete the Deleteds
Even if files indexed during the GEODI discovery process are deleted, they continue to appear in search results and reports. To remove these files from the index, the "Delete Deleteds" operation must be used. This operation removes deleted files from the index for both local and GDE-discovered files if they have been deleted.
There is also an alternate version of Delete the Deleteds on Project/Maintenance menu.
Actions: Discovery-Batch-Masking
This report requires a Masking license.
Batch masking is a GEODI DCC file to mask selected files. DCC can be run on GEODI Server. Masking covers local and network sources.
The generated script may not work on different machines due to access rights, paths of remote files, and similar reasons. You should run it on the machine where the GEODI Server is located.
The script requires the following parameters.
Token → A token with a user that has masking permission. Obtain a token from <geoddi-url>/API.
MaskDataMetaID, is the profşile ID of the masking pattern. You can find the IDs of the profiles that come with masking on the Masking page.e
A place to store masked files. Make sure there is enough storage in the place.
