GEODI Server Classification Module should be installed

If you have a license, the module installation will take place automatically in the module wizard that opens when you run GEODI.

You must create a classification project

For this purpose, you can use one of the classification GEODI projects that comes with the Classification Module as a start. The definitions required for Automatic and Manual Classification will come with this project. You will have completed the first step of classification without any content.

The necessary information is shared on this page to create in a manual way.

Reviewing the classes

Each organization may have different specific needs and expectations from the classification project. Although it is possible to change the classes later, we recommend that you share the current situation with the organization and get approval for a good start.

If Data Discovery to be made

If Data Discovery is to be made, you can start defining the sources to be discovered at this stage and then start the discovery.

OWA (Outlook Web App / Outlook 365) Kurulumu (OWA (Outlook Web App / Outlook 365) Setup)

GEODI Classifier has a classification plugin that works in Exchange Server or Office 365.

OWA Setup

Separate installation method for individual users or for all users is provided for OWA/Office 365 environment.

Web Service Address: No matter which method you use, you must provide the address used to access OWA. You must add /ews/exchange.asmx at the end. If OWA has an SSL, GEODI must also work with an SSL.

OWA Setup for Single User

Username and password must be given. Username, if it is in the domain, should be written as domain@username, if not, should be written directly. After entering the information, "Install to Server" completes the installation for the relevant user.

The bulk installation steps are described below in the "Installation for All Users" step.

OWA Installation for All Users

With this process, we will be able to deploy the OWA plugin to all users defined on the Exchange Admin Center. In the installation tab in the GEODI Classifier settings, we download our xml file that we will use during installation with "Download Manifest".

We click + in the Exchange Admin Center Organization / Add-ons section.

On the screen that opens, click Choose File, select our downloaded xml manifest file and upload it. Classifier OWA plugin has started to be distributed to all users in the organization. Depending on the number of people, the distribution process will take between 6-24 hours. In order for the plugin to serve smoothly, the OWA plugin must have access to GEODI.

Now our classification plugin can also be used in Outlook, which we access through the browser

Troubleshooting

  • Clients will be updated in about 10 minutes when Classifier settings are changed in the GEODI interface

  • If office add-ons or Desktop Classification is not active

    • Check that the client installation is complete

    • Must have access to the GEODI server

    • GEODI Token validity must be checked

  • In cases without internet / GEODI cannot be reached, installation can be performed in the environment. When a connection to GEODI is established, the Classifier plugin is automatically activated.

  • ADS is used for classification in other file types except MS Office and PDF files. In a classified file, it is written whether the classes can be preserved or not as a result of the following operations.

    • The name of the file has been changed (Class Preserved).

    • File extension changed. txt → log - mp4 → avi (Class Preserved)

    • The file was copied to another computer without GEODI Classifier and checked (Class Preserved)

    • File copied over RDP connection (Class Not Preserved)

    • Classified uploaded to wetransfere and downloaded. (Class Not Preserved)

    • The file has been classified. Compressed as rar/zip and extracted (Class Preserved)

  • In case there is no access to the GEODI server (Network problem, client disconnected from the network, GEODI server down, etc.)

  • Office plugin becomes inactive, you can continue working. Previously given classes are preserved.

    • Shell extention continues to offer options, but remains non-functional. Classification cannot be done.

    • The OWA extension should not lose access to the GEODI server. The GEODI server must be accessible from every environment where the plugin will be used. Otherwise, mail cannot be sent via OWA.
