The GDE agent allows for indexing/discovering many PCs w/o defining each. The GDE runs on Windows, Linux or MacOS. The method described on the GEODI Desktop Explorer(GDE) Installation page should be used to distribute the GDE agent to PCs.
With the GDE:
You can define which local folders will be included.
With the Search license, it is possible to set For search purposes each user to search defined sources plus only his/her can search general data as well as data on their own PC.
Optionally backup indexed data to a central location.
